We were in Atlanta today packing up a grandfather clock for one of our customers.
One of our customers is moving up north and needed their grandfather clock packed up for the move. We came in and packed up the interior of the grandfather clock. At first they wanted to have a crate built for it, however, due to the way we pack up grandfather clocks, they decided to leave it un crated. The moving company will wrap their grandfather clock in protected blankets and move it like it is.
Packing the interior parts of the grandfather clock and making sure that all parts including the movement, and chime rods are secure is the most important process of packing up a grandfather clock. Once we have secured everything and packed up the grandfathers weights and pendulum, the grandfather clock can be moved and stored safely. You can even lay it on its back to transport it.
