My clock strikes  the wrong time...

Clock repair sometimes does not require a service tech to come out to your home.  If your clock is striking a number of times which does not correspond with what your clock says, this can be fixed easily by following the instructions below:

Let's say your clock is showing 10 o'clock and it is only striking 5 times at the top of the hour.  Simply move the hour hand to the correct number of strikes the clock is striking.  In this example, you would simply move the hour hand to the 5 o'clock mark.

Once the hour hand is moved to the correct spot, you can now set the clock to the correct time of the day and the clock should strike the correct number of strikes.

Keep in mind that whenever you move the minute hand, you will get the chiming and striking out of sequence. Most modern day clocks are self correcting and usually take one or two hours to self correct. Once you set the time, just leave the clock alone for at least an hour and it should self correct.

Please feel free to contact Clock Repair Service if you have any further questions.  You may leave a comment or email us at  info@clockrepairservice.com.

That's good to know that most modern clocks would be self-correcting. I would think that would be super useful to have. I would think that I would want to make sure that I fixed an older one correctly, so I'll have to consider taking one to have it repaired to make sure that's working correctly.

It's really great to learn that most modern clocks are self-correcting, but not all of them. My brother has a really old tower clock that he needs to repair soon because it's from our grandpa. I'll share your article with him so that he knows what to look for when doing repairs.

My uncle just gave me his antique clock and I just noticed that it's striking at the wrong time. It really helped when you said to leave it alone for an hour so it can self-correct. I'll have to change it manually and see if I can match it up myself.
